Frequently Asked Questions
Quick honest answers. If your question isn't here, email [email protected] and we'll add it.
Each classification ships with a confidence score (0–100%) and the top three alternative codes we considered. In practice, well-described products at the chapter / heading level (4-digit and 6-digit) come back with 80–95% confidence; at the tariff-line level (8 / 10 digit) confidence drops because the right code often depends on materials, intended use, and importer status that aren't in the description.
Treat the suggestion as a strong starting point for your customs broker, not as a final determination. The PDF prints the rationale and alternatives so your broker can second-check our reasoning rather than start from scratch.
No. The PDF is a planning document, not a filing. The actual customs entry — commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, country-specific declarations — is filed by your customs broker with the destination customs authority.
What the PDF does do is give your broker (or you, if you self-file) a complete picture: the proposed HS code with rationale, the duty / tax / freight / insurance breakdown, the compliance checklist for that code, and the sanctions-screening verdict. It's the artefact you send your broker before requesting a quote.
LandedClear currently supports India → USA. Additional pairs are being added as we curate the tariff and compliance data for each. If you submit a calculation for an unsupported pair, you'll see a "we don't have data for this yet" message with a one-click email-capture — we email you when the pair goes live.
If you have a pair you'd specifically like prioritised, mention it in the email-capture or write to [email protected]. We'll prioritise based on demand.
No. There is no signup, no password, no profile. The only thing we collect about you is your email address at PDF delivery — and that's purely so we can email the PDF to you and resend it if you ever lose it.
Your PDF download link works for 30 days from generation; the email copy works indefinitely. If you'd like us to forget your email entirely, see Section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
Full automatic refund if our system fails to deliver the PDF within 24 hours of payment. Full refund plus a corrected PDF if you report a verifiable data error within 7 days of delivery.
Discretionary refunds for "I changed my mind" or "my broker disagrees with one line" — email [email protected] with a specific reason and we'll consider it case-by-case.
Refunds are processed back through Razorpay and typically arrive within 5–7 business days. Full policy in the Terms of Service §5.
Credit packs are coming soon, not yet available. The plan: buy in bulk (10 / 25 / 100 / 500 credits), one credit equals a Basic PDF, Standard costs 4 credits, Premium 8. Credits will never expire, and the per-PDF effective price drops materially because the payment-processor fee is paid once per pack rather than per query.
For now, every purchase is a one-time pre-paid transaction (Basic $1, Standard $5, Premium $10 — billed in INR via Razorpay; your bank converts to local currency). If you expect to run more than 10 PDFs in a week and want bulk pricing today, email [email protected] and we'll work something out manually.
Anti-dumping duty is an additional tariff that some destination countries (notably the US) levy on specific goods from specific countries when those goods are believed to be sold below "fair market value". It applies only to certain commodities and changes frequently as new investigations are concluded.
LandedClear does not currently assess anti-dumping duty — tracking it reliably is beyond the scope of MVP. Every PDF says so explicitly. If your product is in a high-risk category — steel, aluminium, chemicals, textiles, certain electronics — verify anti-dumping exposure separately with your customs broker. For most consumer goods (apparel, leather, furniture, toys, cosmetics) anti-dumping rarely applies; if you've never heard of it for your product, you're probably fine but a 30-second broker check is cheap insurance.
Adding anti-dumping coverage is on our roadmap. If you'd specifically benefit from it, mention this when you email support — demand drives priority.
Not yet via a public API. Today LandedClear is a self-serve web tool only. A B2B API is on the roadmap (Phase 4 of the product), targeting e-commerce platforms, freight forwarders, and customs broker software that want landed-cost / classification / screening as a backend service.
If you'd be a likely customer, email [email protected] with your use case — what you'd integrate it into, expected volume, and which features matter most to you. The API ships when there's enough concrete demand to justify building and supporting it.
